Into All the World

Lone Oak Church of Christ is known as a mission-minded church.  The first mission effort was a clothing drive for the Potter’s Orphanage (now Potter’s Children’s Home).  In the fifties, the church supported Bob Hare, a missionary in Eastern Europe and Russia, as he worked to get Bibles to people behind the Iron Curtain.

In 1994, our mission committee was formed.  They sort through the MANY requests for support and decide which we are able to help financially.  We support the following works:
  • Adventure In Missions (based in Lubbock) - students from Lone Oak
  • Gary and Michelle Ford in Thailand
  • South Texas Mission Center in Pharr Texas
  • Shipley Missions in Baltimore, Maryland
  • New Pathways for children
  • Short-term mission trips
  • Medical missions
  • Preacher students
  • Truth for Today
  • World Christian Broadcasting
Additionally our members have helped others by digging ditches, and painting and constructing church buildings and houses.  All are encouraged to get involved from our youth to our A.M.I.G.O.S. (Aging Men In God’s Outreach Service).  We believe there is always something you can do to help others no matter your age, skill or talents.  God has a purpose for you.
